Trans|Form is a collection of limited edition objects inspired by the idea of metamorphose of form and functions. Collections of transformed and transforming objects. Trans|Form invokes liminality, a fluid and malleable situation that throws everything into question, perpetuating change and constant mutation. A dining table becomes a rock formation. A vase becomes a sheet of metal. A platform becomes a lamp. Each individual piece, restructured and reformed by hand, bares the imprint of a multitude of gestures, lived experiences and narratives.

Rock Formation was a commissioned piece.  A client wanted a custom-made bar.

Vertical volcanic rocks of the Organ Pipe Mountains were deconstructed and reassembled into an angular foundation. Concessions were made and a solid wooden slab became a simple structural top.

What was to be a naturally fluid composition became a bound linear structure.

Rock Formation was incomplete, stopping short of its full potential.

The molten base was far too intricate and striking to let be. Calling for organic continuity, the customized piece was instinctively revisited and intuitively transformed.

The source was reclaimed.

Bedrock minerals are extended into endless imaginary landscapes, shaped the roots of a Mahogany tree. Continents are brought together as layered topographies and moving geographies.

Rock Formation becomes Terra Continens.

One supercontinent comprising all the continental crust of the earth.

Dis/Order in nature can only be discovered intuitively.

A place of origin and development. Creator of life. Mother. Womb.
